Unearthly Bonds A ray of hope gleamed like dappled sunshine when the paladin spotted the first few leaves along the path. Reaching the shelter of the forest, she collapsed with a groan. She was able to begin binding her wounds after a few moments, but holy healing would have to wait until she rested for several hours. The warrior eyed the amount of blood flowing out to stain her wet armor and wondered if she'd live that long. Already she was feeling dizzy and cold, teeth chattering. Loss of blood was making her unbearably thirsty too, but there was no way she was going to return to that Mota-bedamned river for water and risk further injuries. The paladin barely managed to get her last wound bandaged when the red-tinged darkness began creeping in at the edges of her vision. She had just enough time to utter a fervent prayer before unconsciousness claimed her. She did awaken, almost a day later, to vague memories of strange dreams filled with gentle hands and fantastic creatures with soothing voices. Twas a rather startling revelation to realize that the bandages were gone, her injuries healed completely. There wasn't even any lingering pain. In fact, she felt utterly refreshed and full of energy, ready to take on the world. "Mota be praised!" It was a miracle and, she decided, a holy sign that her god wanted her to complete her quest. Her sword singing as she pulled it from its sheath, the paladin turned to venture forth bravely into the river... "... and then the silly girl forgets to take any underwater breathing potions with her and drowns." Ignoring Ivar's snicker, Mota continued, Yeesh. Just can't get good help these days. Bartender!
